The Basics

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable substances — most commonly hyaluronic acid (HA) — that add volume, contour, and hydration beneath the skin. As we age, we naturally lose fat, collagen, and bone density, causing hollowness and sagging. Fillers restore this volume beautifully and immediately.

Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally found in the body, making HA fillers safe, biocompatible, and reversible. Results typically last 9–18 months depending on the product and area treated.

Juvederm

Allergan's premium HA filler collection. Juvederm Voluma restores cheek volume, Volbella softens fine lip lines, and Ultra Plus adds lip fullness and definition.

Restylane

Galderma's versatile HA filler family. Restylane Lyft lifts cheeks and hands, Kysse is ideal for natural lip enhancement, and Defyne addresses deep facial folds.

Sculptra

A collagen biostimulator that works gradually over months, rebuilding your own collagen for subtle, long-lasting volume restoration. Results can last 2+ years.

Radiesse

An FDA-approved dermal filler and biostimulator made of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres. It immediately smooths moderate-to-severe wrinkles and adds volume while stimulating your body's natural collagen production for long-lasting results — typically 12 to 18 months or longer.

What to Expect

Your filler experience

01

Consultation

Nikki assesses your facial anatomy and discusses your goals to create a customized filler plan.

02

Treatment

Filler is injected using ultra-fine needles or cannulas. Most patients experience minimal discomfort. Appointments take 30–60 minutes.

03

Results

Results are visible immediately. Some swelling is normal for 24–72 hours; final results settle beautifully within 2 weeks.

04

Maintenance

Most fillers last 9–18 months. Touch-ups maintain your look over time and may require less product as collagen improves.

FAQ

Common questions

Is filler reversible?
Yes — hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed. This is one of the key safety advantages of HA-based products.
Will I bruise?
Bruising is possible but not guaranteed. Avoiding blood thinners (ibuprofen, fish oil, alcohol) for several days before your appointment can minimize risk.
How long do results last?
Depending on the product and area, results typically last 9–18 months. Thicker fillers placed in deeper areas tend to last longer.
Does it hurt?
Most fillers contain lidocaine (a numbing agent). Topical numbing cream is also applied beforehand. Most patients find it very tolerable.
